Korean Galbi Grilled Short Ribs
Flanken-cut short ribs marinated in a sweet-savory soy, pear and sesame bath, then flash-grilled until caramelized and charred at the edges. Sticky, smoky and impossible to stop eating.
Ingredients
Serves 4- 3 lb flanken-cut beef short ribs
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1 Asian pear
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 6 clove garlic
- 2 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 4 green onions
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
Instructions

Blend the grated pear, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger and sesame oil into a smooth marinade.

Submerge the short ribs in the marinade and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.

Heat a grill or grill pan to high and shake excess marinade off the ribs.

Grill the thin ribs 2 to 3 minutes per side until deeply caramelized with charred edges.

Scatter with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds.

Serve immediately with lettuce leaves for wrapping.
